You’re the right fit if you want to become your child's most effective advocate, not hire one and step back. This works for parents who:
Want to learn the strategy because the goal is for you to use this skill for years, not one meeting.
Are willing to be the “face” of their child’s advocacy. I give you the roadmap and the action steps. You implement them, which means asking hard questions, saying no when you need to, and holding the district accountable.
Are able to stay organized. Special education advocacy runs on data, so you need to stay organized enough to save, track, and use the data in your advocacy efforts.
Are comfortable with technology. My practice is fully virtual, so you should be comfortable scanning documents, using a client portal, signing electronically, and meeting over video conference.
Understand this is a long game and can keep an open mind. The solution you walked in wanting may not be the one that helps your child most. This is a long game. Building leverage and enforcing your child's rights takes months to gain traction and years to maintain, so you need to think ahead, watch for patterns, and plan for the next meeting instead of reacting to the last one.

I'm not the right fit for everyone, and that's intentional. This won't work if you:
Want to hire a bulldog attorney to fight the district or file a lawsuit while you stay on the sidelines.
Want to hand the process off entirely to an advocate or attorney.
If you have already decided on one specific fix (e.g., a different teacher, a 1:1 aide, or retention) and assume that single change will solve everything.
If you aren’t comfortable with basic technology like video calls, a client portal, e-signatures, and electronic file sharing.

No, I don't currently work with legal insurance plans. My services are offered flat-fee so you always know the cost up front, regardless of what coverage you have.
-
Probably not. Advocacy fees are generally not recoverable, and attorney fees are typically only recoverable if you prevail in a lawsuit. I want you to go into this with realistic expectations about cost, which is part of why I offer flat-fee pricing rather than billing that grows unpredictably.
-
No, but my services are offered flat-fee, so you know exactly how much it will cost up front.

IEP meeting attendance isn't included, but it's available on a limited basis as an optional add-on. My goal is to teach you how to be your child's best advocate, not to do the advocacy at the meeting for you. There are times when it may be necessary, so I do offer this as an add-on, but my availability is limited.

Yes, and it's worth it even if you're already sure. Think of the Strategy Session as a real working session, not just a formality. You'll leave with an initial read on your situation and a clearer sense of what's ahead. It also gives us both a chance to make sure we're the right fit before committing to ongoing work, so you can move forward with confidence rather than guessing.
-
The 3-month package is designed to support you through preparation, the IEP meeting itself, and any follow-up afterward, so for most cases, that timeframe is enough to see real progress. But every situation is different, and some cases need more time. If that's true for you, we can talk about extending our work together on a case-by-case basis. My goal is to make sure you feel supported, not to leave you wondering what comes next.
